Recipe: Cake with figs

Cake with figs, prepared in this way is delicious and refreshing, it is ideal to eat in the summer.


  • 200 g of dried figs
  • 200 g of smooth flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 dl yogurt
  • 100 g ground almonds
  • 180 g butter
  • 180 g of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2.5 dl of water
  • pinch of salt
  • grated orange peel
  • half a teaspoon of powdered ginger
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Ingredients for the filling:

  • 300 g cream cheese
  • 2 dl whipping cream
  • 50 g of powdered sugar
  • grated orange peel
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring.


  • Line the bottom of the 24 cm diameter cake tin with greaseproof paper and coat the walls with butter.
  • Coat with greaseproof paper.
  • Turn the oven to 175°C
  • Stir in dry ingredients.
  • Mix the butter and sugar with a mixer until a frothy mixture is obtained.
  • Add a third of the dry ingredients, beat and add one egg.
  • Repeat the process until all the ingredients are used up, and finally add the vanilla aroma and yogurt.
  • Dried figs previously soaked in hot water cut into cubes and mix into the mixture.
  • Pour the mixture into a mold and bake in an oven preheated to 175°C for about 45 minutes. Allow to cool.
  • Whip the cream ingredients with a mixer.
  • Coat the biscuit with cream and garnish with sliced fresh figs and serve.
